Art of Action Work:

Here, There, and Everywhere

42"h x 62"w - acrylic and latex enamel on wood

Very often Vermonters refer to their State as an island of tranquil peace and quiet. An escape from the hurried, hectic pace often experienced "outside" in more developed areas of the country. This work was inspired by a classic New Yorker magazine cover which depicted the country from coast to coast as containing only New York City with the Midwest in between bordered by California in the distance to the west. The concept of a green , lush, rural Vermont under clear blue skies existing under a busy highway ramp below the overpass of development gone awry seemed like a fitting depiction of how some Vermonters view this special place.
